It has been set by God what our goal, as the church, is for His ministry. At Gabriel Oaks, it is not our goal to produce a “youth ministry”, but REPRODUCE the ideals and convictions that our Father has already laid out in His word for the youth His church. Our Gracious Father has already given us everything pertaining to life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3) including principles and models of ministry in the scriptures, which shall always be our guide and reference. We rely on the power of God and biblical principles instead of fads, program’s and shallow youth culture. Nor shall we ever take credit for success or progression, but “boast in the Lord” (1 Cor 1:31), because it is His power that brings salvation, not man. (Rom 1:16)
Our Goal
| Confidence in the Faith – “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” Eph 6:16 It is our goal to immunize our youth with God’s truth to strengthen their vulnerability against the viruses of sin that are destroying our culture. |
Our Vision
“Your children shall be like olive plants.” Psalm 128:3 It takes years for an olive plant to become an olive tree, but with the right nurturing, will grow and produce for 2,000 years. Just as the remarkable, significance of the olive tree, it is the vision that our youth will embody peace, wisdom, glory, fertility, power and purity so that when they enter into the adult life, they turn not away from the way they have been trained up to go, (Prov 22:6) but are equipped to function under the kingdom’s authority in every area of life.
Bible Classes
The youth in our congregation gather regularly for Bible classes and participate as Christians should in our worship services. Our youth also participate in regular devotionals, studies and fellowship in activities provided by the youth committee, parents and other members of the congregation.
Summer Camp
Each year, in the summer, our youth spend time at various camps, where they receive training in the truth of God’s word. They are afforded the opportunity to build lasting friendships and enjoy life.
VBS
Each year we host a Vacation Bible School which includes classes for all ages (adults as well), but with a special emphasis on our children.
